Overview
- There are many types of instruments that assess individual differences and personality. Some have greater reliability and validity, such as the Minnesota Multiphasic Personality Inventory (MMPI), the California Psychology Inventory, and The Big Five Inventory (BFI).
- The Individual Difference Research Lab website has put together a collection of over 200 of these assessments. Many are based on instruments used in research, and according to the website, they were all created by experts in psychometrics.
- This activity lab will afford you the opportunity to explore interests that you might have about how you’d score on tests that measure such psychological characteristics as happiness, anger, political affiliation, or stress. Some of the tests are more scientifically valid, while others may just be for fun, like identifying which Marvel hero you would be.
- In this activity lab, you’ll scroll through and learn about the different types of assessments.
- You’ll pick two and take the survey. You will learn a bit about what went into creating the assessment and maybe learn about yourself.
