This was one of Sapolsky’s first books. Its about the science, biology and endocrinology of stress. Great for those intersted in health psychology

David Eagleman is a neuroscientist and excellent science writing. This is a good first book for those interested in neuroscience.

This is a fantastic book on the resissance of reserach on psychadelics. Michael Pollan is a great science writer.

Carl Hart is a leading researcher on recreational drugs. He takes a rather controversial but interesting perspective on drugs use.

Dr. Schwartz discusses how we make choices, and how too many choices can be bad to our mental health.

Nobel Laureate, Daniel Kahneman discusses his work on heursitics, decsion making, and thinking. A must read!

Dan Ariely is a leading voice in behavioral economics and the social influence of decision making. This an interesting and often humorous book.

Novel Laureate, Richard Thaler discusses subtle ways to” influence “nudge” behavior and choice architecture.

Dan Pink discusses the research on human motivation applied to education, economics, and work.

Dan Ariely discusses how easily misbelief and misinformation spreads. This was written in the context of the COVID-19 pandemic.

This is a great book on the history of psychological disorders, treatment and stigma.

Each chapter is an interesting case study in psychiatry and disorders, such as a surgeon with Tourette’s syndrome, and an artist who became color blind.

This is a must-read award-winning book for those interested in mental health. It discusses how culture influences how someone receives treatment for neurological disorders.

A facinating memory of Howard Dully who received a frontal lobtomy when he was 12. This book discusses the tragic history of lobtomies.

Sex, Love and Attachment

This is a well-written book about the science of love an attachment with very interesting example stories.

Helen Fisher is one of the leading researchers and writers about the science and neuroscience of love and sex.
